Project Fetch

Launched in 2009, Project Fetch is an integral program that demonstrates our shelter’s commitment to saving homeless pets throughout New Mexico. Through this program, Animal Humane brings in pets who are residing in overcrowded and underfunded shelters, shelters that are facing a lack of dedicated resources, a national shortage of veterinarians, and overpopulation due to lack of spay/neuter resources and ordinances.

Over 22,000 pets have made the lifesaving journey to Animal Humane from across the state including Aztec, Espanola, Gallup. Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Torrance County, and Tucumcari. We also routinely partner with municipal shelters in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.
