Effective Wednesday, May 6:
In accordance with Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s updated public health order & directives & to do our part to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are currently developing our re-opening protocols, as we continue to monitor directives. As of today, we will be adhering to the following:

Face Coverings:
All Animal Humane New Mexico Guests, Team members & Volunteers will be required to wear face coverings when visiting any of our locations. Face coverings must securely cover the nose & mouth.

Social Distancing:
All Animal Humane New Mexico Guests, Team members & Volunteers on site at any of our locations will be required to practice keeping a 6-foot distance from others & follow all posted directional signage & markers.

Adoptions:
We will re-open for adoptions by appointment only beginning Thursday, May 7. Walk-through viewing of pets will not be allowed. Please visit our website to view our available pets & follow the application link found on each pet’s profile. Applications will be processed in the order they are received; once an application is received our Adoptions Team will be in touch for a phone interview and to set up an adoption appointment at our Main Campus.

Admissions:
We are open for emergency Admissions of stray sick or injured dogs & cats, or stray puppies & kittens, 7 days a week between 10 am & 4 pm by appointment.. To make an appointment, please call 505.938.7861, leave a message, & a member of our Team will return your call.

Pet Food Bank:
Our Pet Food Bank remains open on Sundays & Thursdays from 10 am to Noon. Pet Food Bank Guests must follow the above guidelines, including social distancing & strict adherence for to all signage & markers, including traffic flow indicators.

Veterinary Clinic:
Animal Humane has begun spaying/neutering again, with our focus on shelter pets in order to ready them for adoption. Telemedicine & filling of prescriptions continues for current clients. Curbside check-in appointments of essential & nonessential services for current & new clients, public spay/neuter & trap/neuter/return services are anticipated to return in the coming weeks. Please check back often for more information.

Westside Adoptions Center:
Our Westside Adoptions Center will remain closed, as all adoptions are taking place at our Main Campus.

The Center at Animal Humane:
Doggie Day Care operations will re-open on Thursday, May 7, 7 am – 6 pm with a 15- pet-per-play yard limit. All Day Play MUST be pre-booked 24-hours in advance. We will not be accepting walk-ins at this time. Please call 505.255.7529 or email thecenter@animalhumanenm.org to book & for drop-off & pick-up procedures. All clients are required to wear face coverings, maintain appropriate social distancing & follow all posted directional signage & markers. Boarding will open at a later date.  Thrift Shop:
At this time, our Thrift Shop will re-open pending the Governor’s decision on May 15. Entrance to our Thrift Shop will be limited based on the store’s capacity. All guests are required to wear face coverings, maintain appropriate social distancing & follow all posted directional signage & markers.
