Check Your Pet’s Chip!

Make a one-time donation:

It’s National Pet Loss Prevention Month so there’s no better time to ensure your pet’s registered microchip has up-to-date information. Each year, close to 15% of cats and dogs will go missing, according to a study done by the ASPCA. And while 85% of those pets end up returned to their owner, that still leaves many pets homeless in shelters all over the country.

Microchipping, along with identification tags, have proven to be the most effective method for ensuring that lost pets end up back home with the people who love them. All pets adopted from Animal Humane are microchipped, but it is still important for our adopters and all pet owners to be diligent about making sure that your pet’s microchip information is current, including your address and phone number. Help your pet find their way home safely and make sure that he or she is chipped and that your information is updated.

If your pet isn’t microchipped, contact your vet or find out if you qualify for our Donor-subsidized Veterinary Clinic. Animal Humane is also holding a FREE microchipping event, sponsored by Garcia Subaru, at 8100 Lomas Blvd NE on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Give your pet the best chance possible to find his or her way back into your loving home.
