Make a one-time donation: Submit Last year, we told you the story of Raj, a gentle American Pit Bull mix who stole our hearts with his amazing resiliency and boundless love. Raj lost one eye to a traumatic injury when he was one and, at the age of three, he lost the other after being poisoned alongside his brothers in his backyard. A neighbor intervened and brought Raj, the only survivor, to Animal Humane to receive the medical treatment he desperately needed. In our care, and now facing a completely sightless world, Raj nevertheless showered our Team with an abundance of love that belied the trauma he had endured. Two months later, he was adopted by a wonderful couple who heard his story, met and fell in love with Raj. Today, after more than a year together, Raj’s parents shared that they remain deeply thankful that Raj is in their lives. They simply adore the way he runs in circles when he gets excited, or how he still insists on being cuddled in their laps like a dog half his size. Your support helps us turn challenges into triumphs for cats and dogs throughout New Mexico. As Raj’s inspiring life affirms, your generosity makes a lasting difference!
Make a one-time donation: Submit Gypsy is a fearless Siamese cat who came to us as a stray at only two months of age. After receiving weeks of tender care in the home of one of our Foster Care families, she returned to our shelter and was quickly adopted. Khaleesi, a sweet American Staffordshire Terrier, was battling a parasitic infection in her left eye when we transferred her from the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department. In our care, Khaleesi bravely underwent months of medical treatment to save her remaining eye and behavior training to ease her fears. Gypsy’s mom, who had since become an Animal Humane employee, was drawn to Khaleesi’s gentle demeanor but was unsure if the pair would be compatible. She brought Khaleesi home through our Foster-to-Adopt program and was thrilled when the two snuggled and became fast friends. Help us bring more soulmates together in 2017 by making an Annual Fund Drive gift today! Your generosity will provide thousands of pets with the care they need and the love they deserve. Gypsy and Khaleesi are now constant companions, enjoying their lives free from pain and fear — and filled with love. Your compassion has the power to unite even the most unlikely of hearts. On behalf of the pets who receive a second chance due to your compassion, we thank you!
Make a one-time donation: Submit On a cold night last winter, a good Samaritan found newborn Rose and her six siblings in a box, abandoned in a remote area of town. Arriving malnourished and undersized, Rose and her littermates were each carefully nurtured by our Foster Care Team until they were adopted. Thanks to you, we sheltered over 4,000 homeless pets this year and provided them the care and love they needed to find their forever homes. Our work is not finished. While thousands of pets have been saved in 2016, more will need your help in 2017. This holiday season, you have the opportunity to double your impact on the lives of New Mexico’s homeless pets! A generous group of donors has committed to matching $20,000 in gifts made by December 31. Today, Rose is healthy, happy and most importantly — loved! She is creating wonderful memories with her new family thanks to the support of compassionate individuals like you and our dedicated Team who helped her blossom and thrive. Your generosity transforms lives. Thank you for making a real difference this holiday season.
Make a one-time donation: Submit Spaz, a spirited 6-month-old puppy arrived at Animal Humane with severe injuries to his hind leg. Kept on a makeshift chain of thin wire, the sweet Labrador cross had somehow wrapped the wire around his leg, causing deep cuts and exposed bone. With the wonderful support of generous donors like you, Animal Humane was able to immediately treat Spaz’s wounds and the cuddly canine recovered quickly and was soon adopted into a loving home. Thanks to you, we have already sheltered nearly 4,000 homeless pets this year and provided them the care and love they needed to find a home for the holidays. However, our work is not finished. Spaz is spending the winter surrounded by warmth and love, but other pets still need your help. Your donation today will help cats and dogs still searching for the comfort of the season receive the care and attention they need to find their perfect people. Your generosity will transform their lives, while they are in our care and beyond. Thank you for giving the gift of hope this holiday season.
Make a one-time donation: Submit As a caring pet friend, you already know that having a cat or dog is about more than just giving them a safe and loving home with nutritious food and a comfortable bed — it’s about spending quality time together, creating memories, and sharing life’s ups and downs. For 33 years, Animal Humane New Mexico has commemorated the special bond we enjoy with our feline and canine companions at our signature fundraising event, Doggie Dash & Dawdle. On Sunday, November 6, 2016, our 34th Annual Doggie Dash & Dawdle will celebrate all the ways we share our lives with pets. We hope you will join us in celebration by registering or making a donation in honor of the thousands of pets who — because of your help — will experience their first ever evening walk, movie night, Saturday hike, study session or afternoon nap with their new best friend. By supporting Doggie Dash, you are helping Animal Humane give pets everything they need to transition from homelessness and uncertainty to a new family and security. Your donation, at any level, helps provide quality medical treatment, nutritious food, comfortable lodging, behavior and enrichment activities and oodles of love for the pets in our care. Thank you for your dedication, and we hope to see you on November 6! New This Year: Agility Demonstrations, Bernalillo County K-9 Unit appearances, Small Dog Sprint, Pup-arazzi Photo Booth, Inflatable Human Spheres!
