Workshops & Seminars

Animal Humane's Behavior Workshops and Seminars

Animal Humane's Behavior Workshops and Seminars teach pet parents about typical animal behavior to help bridge the communication gap between people and pets and also provide intensive hands-on training to help us improve our pets' behavior. Learn about our variety of workshops and seminars below, then register on our Training Calendar.

Behavior Seminars

Do you “speak” dog? What about cat? As pet parents, we’re not always prepared to interpret our pets’ behaviors. Luckily, our behavior seminars are here to help teach you a little bit more about animal behavior and communication, to take some of the guess work out of “why does my pet do that?”

Understanding Dog Body Language
This 2-hour long presentation will help you to learn what dogs are saying to each other, and to you. You will learn how your dog perceives your body language and learn how to use this knowledge to be a better observer of your dog.

Behavior Workshops

Are you too busy to attend a 6 week training course but still want to give your dog a training tune-up? Our hands-on workshops are great for practicing important behaviors with your dog or for learning new tricks to use at home!

Each class covers one topic:

  • Loose Leash Walking & Polite Greetings
  • Reliable Recalls
  • Solid Stays
  • Tricks

Each workshop is 1.5 hours long and is open to 6 owner+dog teams. People interested in attending without their dog are also welcome.
