Pit Crew Educates 350+ Students at Roosevelt Middle School
Our 505 Pit Crew had their biggest presentation ever this month, educating 350+ captivated students at Roosevelt Middle School! Our ambassador Pit Bull, Kale, stayed focused and responsive for agility demos and obedience tricks for the students. Youth education is an effective and productive way to increase and encourage responsible pet ownership in our community!

505 Pit Crew is a youth-oriented program aimed at addressing fighting dogs, most often Pit Bulls, for entertainment or gang-related purposes. Many of the people who become dogfighters are introduced to fighting before the age of 10 and are fighting their own dogs by their teen years. Involvement in dog fighting often leads to involvement in other illegal activities, and young dogfighters therefore not only hurt their dogs, but eventually themselves and their communities. 505 Pit Crew program combines humane education and outreach with free dog training classes in an effort to divert youth from dog fighting and provide them with the education and tools needed for responsible dog ownership.
