Cats Around Town!

Over 135 cats are in new, forever loving homes thanks to our CAT! business partners. The program works like this: Albuquerque businesses host one adoptable cat at a time in a kitty condo in their stores. They care for the cat until adopted. When someone is interested in adopting the cat, Animal Humane adoption counselors interview and approve prospective adopters by phone. The CAT! Partner simply fills in the adopters name on the adoption form, takes payment for the cat and sends the cat home with their new pet parent. Animal Humane's CAT! Program manager then resupplies the partner with a new cat, new bedding, litter and food.

CAT! Business partners say the program is good for business becuase their staff and customers love seeing the cats and they love giving back by helping great cats find forever homes. Currently, there are nine participating businesses including pet supplies stores such as Wags and Whiskers in Corrales, our top producer last year, four of the VCA Animal Hospitals in town, and our newest partner, Kurt's Camera Corral. Other partners include Peacecraft in Nob Hill, Jack & Rascal's, and Albuquerque Cat Clinic. If your business would like to join the program, call Mary Lou at 264.5919.
