| The clinic at Animal Humane is a full service hospital for low income qualified clientele. This is not a free clinic. There are fees associated with all services. Fees are substantially below industry standards already; no additional discounts are available. Clients must qualify for veterinary services.
How do I qualify?
You must qualify as low income in order to obtain veterinary care. All sources of income must be included for all wage-earners in the household, even if the income is non-taxable. Everyone must qualify under the following income guidelines:

All wage earners in the household and all sources of income must be included.
√ What proof do I need?
- 2 paycheck stubs dated within the last month for each wage earner OR
- a bank statement showing payroll deposits OR
- your government award letter showing the total deposit amount of pay, Social Security, supplemental security, pension, retirement, survivors benefits, disability, and/or any other income OR
- W2s or tax documentation for the last calendar year (valid only if all income is taxable/reported).
√ Is my Medicaid/Insurance/EBT/Social Security Card sufficient proof?
- No. Qualifications are determined based on household income.
√ Do I have to qualify in order to receive veterinary services?
- Yes, with the exception of shot clinic services and euthanasia services, which we offer to anyone to avoid unnecessary suffering of our pets. Our mission is to treat patients that would not get the care they need otherwise. Proof of low income qualification must be provided at check in or services will not be rendered.
√ Can I bring my proof of low income when I come to pick up my pet?
- No. Proof of low income status must be provided at check in or services will not be rendered. We regret this requirement, but occasionally, dishonest people make this policy necessary.
√ Is there a discount for senior citizens?
- No. All clinic fees are substantially discounted already; no additional discounts are available.
