  • Double the Love

Make a one-time donation: Submit At 3 months old, Rasputin arrived at Animal Humane New Mexico as a stray. At first, he was frightened–but our Behavior Team knew that Rasputin would be a loving companion for a lucky family if given the chance. After weeks of positive association training, it was clear that young Rasputin wanted a feline friend and mentor–and he received just that in the form of a fellow adoptable kitten. Rasputin and Merlin hit it off immediately and Rasputin blossomed. He learned how to play, and by watching Merlin, he also learned to trust people for the first time. Your generosity allows us to help pets like Rasputin grow into loving, joyful pets. Your contributions help us provide more than 4,000 pets with medical care, nutritious food, warm places to sleep, and lots of love until they find their forever homes. Rasputin and Merlin were listed as a bonded pair and were adopted together from our Cats Around Town partner location, Clark’s Pet Emporium. The two felines now have a loving family, including two human siblings with whom they can play and grow together.
  • Raise Funds, Help Pets

    pets 2014
Every year, thousands of people gather at Doggie Dash & Dawdle to help homeless pets. We are so honored by your dedication to helping transform the lives of cats and dogs in our care, and appreciate each of our participants compassion! Many individuals go above and beyond, raising hundreds of dollars to increase their impact and inspire their friends and family with their passion for pets. Melissa, who has nearly reached her $500 goal, is one amazing advocate for the pets in our care. Melissa shared her inspiration and passion with us: “I have two dogs that never would have made it without Animal Humane: Suki and Jack. Suki was adopted in 2007, and was a six month old transfer from a high risk shelter. Jack was a runt surrendered by a breeder when he was only days old; he was very sick and may not have made it with our Animal Humane’s Foster Care and Clinic Teams. When I saw his face on Animal Humane’s website, I knew he was meant for our family. “I would watch rescue videos and see these amazing stories of animals that are given a second chance and thought about helping but never made the time. After following the journey of Cane, a rescued dog, I was moved to “paw it forward” and wanted to do something to help homeless pets; especially the bully breeds. I love my pets and couldn’t imagine my life without them… they’re not just our pets, they’re our family. Shortly after Cane passed away, my mother in law succumbed to brain cancer and I learned she was a supporter of Animal Humane New Mexico; it was my final inspiration to do something. “So, I signed up for Doggie Dash and to volunteer for Animal Humane. She would be so proud. “If I could, I would rescue them all, but right now, I can do the next best thing by raising money and volunteering to help other Canes, Sukis and Jacks find homes.” To say thank you for remarkable efforts and dedication like Melissa’s, we offer prizes – and the immense gratitude from every dog and cat you help us save. This year, they include: $35 – a 2015 Doggie Dash & Dawdle T-Shirt $100 – Name a dog or cat in 2016 & receive a pet photo $250 – a Thermal Logo Tumbler $500 – a cozy Animal Humane scarf $1,000 – a FitBit Charge HR, to help you train for next year! And, every individual who raises $100 or more by Friday, October 30 is entered to win these gifts from our generous partners: A $100 Ticketmaster Gift Card, courtesy of 93.3 KOB-FM and Bud Light 3 days of Day Camp at Camp Bow Wow To begin fundraising, visit DoggieDashAndDawdle.org, and register or begin your own fundraising team! • Give the Gift of Hope to Homeless Pets

Make a one-time donation: Submit Bianca, a 1.5-year-old Shepherd/Red Heeler mix, arrived at Animal Humane while she was in labor. Bianca and her puppies were nurtured by our Foster Care Team until they were weaned and sterilized–and then quickly adopted. With each gift, our dedicated Team turns your amazing contributions into medical treatment, behavior training and loving care for the pets brought through our doors. Each cat and dog receives the physical and emotional nourishment they need to become happy, healthy and loving companions. After parting ways with her puppies, Bianca blossomed into a playful adolescent, engaging in canine playgroups and winning the heart of her future adopter. Today, Bianca and her puppies are each sharing warm homes and creating happy memories with their new families–all thanks to you, our donors, and to our Volunteers, as well as our Veterinary, Foster Care and Adoptions Teams who helped them thrive and find loving homes. You still have time to double your impact this holiday season by taking advantage of our generous Board of Directors’ commitment to match up to $50,000 for gifts made by December 31. Thank you for your generous support… your kindness is truly a gift!
