Kathy Pierce, Clinic Manager
Born, raised, and educated in New Mexico, Kathy Pierce has worked with companion, homeless, livestock, and wild animals most of her life, including marine reptile research in Central America, wildlife rehabilitation, and feral cat spay/neuter advocacy. Kathy manages Animal Humane's full-service clinic. She holds degrees in Anthropology and Earth and Planetary Sciences, but since leaving the university in 2003, she has pursued her real dream: as a veterinary technician caring for sick and injured animals. In January of 2007, Kathy joined Animal Humane with Dr. Mike Neal to open New Mexico's first full service veterinary clinic for low income clients. In addition to averaging sixty spay/neuter surgeries per day, including shelter patients, rescue group animals, and feral cats, the clinic provides state of the art emergency veterinary care to companion animals that would not otherwise receive medical attention. |
