home  About Us   Audited Financials

Animal Humane receives zero city, state or federal funding. Instead we are responsible for earning or raising 100% of our $4.5 million dollar annual operating budget. We are fortunate to operate three profitable revenue streams that generate 29% of our annual budget: 1. Fees from Adoptions; 2. Fees from services performed in our donor-subsidized Veterinary Clinic for low-income pet owners; and 3. Revenue from our Re:Tail, our thrift and consignment shop, Animal Outfitters, our two pet stores, and sales of donated motor vehicles.

The remaining portion of our annual budget is raised through private donations from individuals as well as contributions made from businesses, foundations and donors including Animal Humane in their estates. Private donations have made it possible for Animal Humane to successfully meet the needs of homeless pets and pet owners for the past 47 years. Every contribution makes a difference and each is valued and judiciously used to operate the 20+ programs that comprise our comprehensive Circle of Care.

Additionally, our devoted staff and Board of Directors are expertly advising our organization on its day-to-day operations. Our Chief Financial Officer, Sandy Phillips, holds a CPA and our 15-member Board provides expert oversight for our business. Each month, our Board Finance Committee reviews our financials and provides guidance. Our committee consists of CPA's, Certified Financial Planners as well as a registered investment advisor and banking, legal and fundraising professionals. And, each year, our financial statements are audited by an independent CPA firm that has given us clean opinions.
